Periodic Inspection

Racking Systems Periodic Inspection Services

Racking systems are structural installations designed to increase storage capacity. Safe use requires a combined assessment of structural calculations, installation reports, visual checks and dimensional measurements.

Inspection Coverage

  • Review of structural calculations
  • Comparison with installation reports
  • Checks of rack load-capacity markings
  • Assessment of deflection after loading
  • Visual and dimensional checks

Racking Systems

Racking systems are structures installed to increase storage capacity. Their inspection is based on reviewing structural calculations, comparing the calculations and installation reports with the installed system, and performing visual and dimensional checks.

Each rack must be marked with its load capacity and tested by loading it in accordance with that marking. Deflection after loading must be assessed against the permitted limits.

Structural Analysis

The safe load-bearing capacity and structural adequacy of the racking system are assessed.

Installation Checks

Installation reports are compared with the existing system and its construction details.

Load Assessment

Deflection after loading to the marked capacity is checked against the permitted limits.
