RoHS Testing
RoHS TESTING
To identify and minimise the environmental harm caused by electrical and electronic equipment and protect human health, the use of hazardous elements such as cadmium (Cd), lead (Pb), chromium (Cr) and mercury (Hg) is restricted. Under the regulation published on 30 May 2008 in Official Gazette No. 26891, the general objectives are:

- Protecting human health;
- Protecting the environment;
- Restricting the use of hazardous substances;
- Identifying applications exempt from the restrictions;
- Ensuring control of imports;
- Enabling recovery;
- Ensuring appropriate disposal;
as the principal aims of the regulation.
Before manufactured or imported electrical and electronic products are placed on the market, they must be tested for restricted hazardous substances. Our laboratories can analyse your products to determine whether the specified limits are exceeded. The substances and limits are listed below.

- Lead (Pb): Below 0.1%
- Cadmium (Cd) : below 0.01%
- Chromium (Cr6+) : below 0.1%
- Mercury (Hg) : below 0.1%
- Polybrominated biphenyls (PBB): Below 0.1%
- Polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDE): Below 0.1%
If the analytical results are below the limits listed above and therefore comply with RoHS, the manufacturer prepares a declaration of conformity containing the minimum information specified in Annex 3 of the regulation and places the product on the market.
The equipment concerned is listed in Annex 1A of the Regulation on the Restriction of the Use of Certain Hazardous Substances in Electrical and Electronic Equipment. A detailed list is also provided in Annex 1B. Some of the product categories within the scope of RoHS are listed below.
